HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR CALORIE NEEDS BY USING QUICK METHOD

Example of cases:

Mr. Ali had a current body weight of 70kg and height of 165cm. he is having a sedentary lifestyle. Calculate the BMI in order to determine whether he is overweight or not? Calculate the calorie need by him that is compatible with his lifestyle.

STEP 1
Calculate the BMI:
70/(1.65x1.65) = 25.71 kg/m2
therefore, he is overweight.

STEP 2
Calculate the calorie needed by the body:
Mr. Ali is sedentary. Therefore, by using the quick method. The calorie needed are:
20-25kcal/kg BM
To calculate the calorie needed:
20 x 70 (current body weight) = 1400kcal
25 x 70 (current body weight) = 1750kcal
Therefore, the calorie need by Mr. Ali that is compatible with his lifestyle is between 1400kcal to 1750kcal.

* It is very important to determine the accurate calorie needed by our body in order to maintain or reduce body weight. But, if we want to reduce body weight. you should reduce some calorie intake and also be physically active.
